This occurred exactly one year after his expulsion from the Nevada Assembly, which deemed him a threat to security. He was later arrested in Victorville, California, after leading police on a high-speed chase along Interstate 15.
The 42-year-old former legislator was charged with evading a peace officer and resisting arrest, to which he pleaded no contest, after charges of throwing a substance at a vehicle and willful harm to a police dog were dropped. Sentencing will occur on July 25.
According to a deputy district attorney, the deal had been a possibility since the case had begun, but it was only when the case went to trial that the defendant decided to act upon it. The lawyer for the defense was not available for comment.
